Stoneware

Stoneware

Mid-fire temperature only used on Stoneware pieces. Glazes are labeled with an S (Stable)or F (Fluid) - indicating their movement level during firing. Stable glazes must be used on the outside of the piece to ensure success. The bottom of the piece is left unpainted and will be placed directly on our shelf for firing. The item will shrink 15% during the glaze firing and the clay will become much more dense. We recommend 3 coats on most colors. Glazes can be layered with brilliant effects that are always a bit unknown. Our staff can help you plan your project. Stoneware is fired once per week. The magic happens in the kiln.
